Consolations — Lessons Learned

I started my major Consolations series of sculptures and drawings in 2013, working in bronze, aluminum, and cedar. This piece, Consolations—Lessons Learned, is the fourth large-scale sculpture in the series, with auto biographical information continuing to be a main force behind the titling and the work. The pieces are both totemic and architectonic. Making these pieces engages my memories—both distant and recent—with time coloring the past in changing ways, resulting in seemingly precarious yet stable constructions.
